Statement on Security Council resolution on Iran PDF Print E-mail

Statement by Lord Corbett of Castle Vale on UN Security Council resolution adopted against the Iranian regime:

Today the international community has sent a powerful message to the mullahs that they can no longer get away with nuclear proliferation and violating international covenants. It is now time for the British government and the EU to go further by condemning Iran's human rights abuses and cutting all ties with the regime until a halt to suppression of dissidents and uranium enrichment.

Iran's mullahs have never been more isolated at home and internationally. The West should support the brave millions in Iran demanding an end to clerical rule. We should be supporting the opposition coalition, led by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, which seeks a democratic, pluralist, and nuclear-free Iran.
