Statement by the Lord Maginnis of Drumglass
Yet, despite constant alert by myself and others, neither Prime Minister Brown nor Foreign Secretary Milliband appear disposed to either intervene or intercede on behalf of these people whose ‘crime’ is only to fight for an alternative democratic and pluralist society for their home nation where already tens of thousands have been executed by the Mullahs regime. This double standard where our soldiers are sent to die for the freedom of others while our senior cabinet members appear to follow some convoluted strategy of being blind to the actions of our dubious allies is certainly not what we British stand for. But then there’s more handy publicity for our Prime Minister when he phones to enquire about Susan Boyles state of health than there is in seeking to represent what British Justice really stands for. Each of us, including our Press, should be ashamed of what this Government is doing to Britain’s reputation and of what we are failing to do for the most vulnerable like those in Camp Ashraf. |
