Sir David Amess MP presented his new book, Ayes & Ears: A Survivor's Guide to Westminster, during an online Book Tour for the Anglo-Iranian communities in the UK on 9 September.

At the event, Sir David spoke about his advocacy for the cause human rights and democracy in Iran, support for the democratic Iranian opposition, the PMOI, and efforts to secure accountability with regards to the 1988 massacre of political prisoners in Iran during his time in the Parliament.

He also shared stories from his long political career in Westminster in an interview with his colleagues, the Rt Hon David Jones MP and Lord McInnes of Kilwinning. They also discussed the future of Iran as well as the need to highlight the involvement of the current President, Ebrahim Raisi, in the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in Iranian prisons and necessary international measures to end impunity in Iran.

Lord Alton of Liverpool sent the following letter to the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz urging them to work with the international community at the upcoming ministerial on Middle East in Warsaw on 13-14 February to address and counteract Iran’s destabilising role in the region.
