Statement by Prof. Lord Alton of Liverpool on behalf of the British Committee for Iran Freedom on the resolution adopted by the IAEA Board of Governors censuring the regime in Iran:

Today, the IAEA Board of Governors passed a resolution formally censuring the regime in Iran over its persistent non-cooperation with the UN nuclear agency.

They call for the prosecution of human rights abusers in Iran, including president Raisi, and; urge UK to support the people of Iran and their Resistance movement

Dozens of members from both Houses of Parliament and members of the Anglo-Iranian community in the UK attended a Persian New Year reception held on the eve of Nowruz in the Jubilee Room in Westminster.

The cross-party MPs and Peers expressed their support for the Iranian people, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the popular protests across the country despite the state crackdown.

They condemned the crackdown on anti-regime protests and arrest of protesters and NCRI supporters in Iran as a sign of the regime's weakness challenged by a rising popular movement for change.

Strong condemnation of the artillery shelling of residential areas in Korin and Shurovo, in the Baluchistan province of Iran

The killing of civilians, women and children, is a war crime of the religious dictatorship

In recent days, the religious and terrorist dictatorship in power in Iran has carried out a new wave of repression and military attacks against the population of deprived areas of Baluchistan, especially in the regions and villages of Korin, Zahedan, Shuro and Saadabad.

The International People’s Tribunal in London on the second anniversary of the November 2019 crackdown on nationwide protests in Iran is a welcome and significant step to ensure ending the systematic impunity that regime leaders and officials have enjoyed for committing atrocities.
